From May through the end of September 2026, A&E Produktionstechnik GmbH participated in the Sächsische Aufbaubank’s funding program. Funding was provided for a study on the thixomolding injection molding process conducted by the Steinbeis Transfer Center for Product Development.
Thixomolding is a specialized processing technology for magnesium and, within certain limits, is comparable to the injection molding of thermoplastics. The main differences lie in the processing temperatures and the flow properties of the respective melts.
The study enables A&E Produktionstechnik GmbH to begin targeted in-house development of hot-runner systems and shut-off nozzles for the thixomolding process, thereby shortening the time required to adapt A&E products for magnesium processing.
