Flexible injection solutions for injection moulding machines

Safe, stable, and efficient

Injection molding machines and injection molding systems (defined here as presses combined with one or more plasticizing and injection units) are durable capital goods used in injection molding production. Depending on their size, the service life or useful life of these plastic injection molding machines can range from 10 to 20 years. This means that the machines must operate effectively in two-component injection molding for this entire period. However, the configuration regarding performance and cost-effectiveness cannot be predicted at the time of purchase or commissioning—even with the best of intentions—and likely will not be predictable in the future even with the use of AI.

Another problem: the general trade-off in manufacturing technology between a highly effective specialized machine, but with a (comparatively) narrower range of technological capabilities, and a universal machine with (comparatively) lower effectiveness, but a wide variety of technological capabilities.

To this end, A&E has developed “intermediate plates” for both new machines and systems as well as those already in production. In addition to the well-known retrofitting process, which replaces wear parts and control systems, these A&E products offer a cost-effective alternative to expensive machine and/or tooling construction.

We develop, manufacture, and distribute flexible injection solutions for single- and multi-component injection molding machines, as well as vertical injection molding machines, to comply with the Circular Economy Act. One advantage of our solutions: Our 2K sandwich systems and hot runner adapter plates are compatible with any standard machine on the market—regardless of size or manufacturer.

If you need advice, we’re happy to help.

Our core competencies

2K sandwich technology (co-injection)

2K sandwich units for all commercially available multi-component injection moulding machines of any size, design, and manufacturer

Hot runner plates

Hot runners in intermediate plates connect the nozzles of the injection units to the mold sprue bushings when their positions and locations differ.

Customized solutions

Customized adaptations enable individual solutions for our customers and their machines.

Sandwich is not “plug and play” or “install, produce, and forget,” but requires appropriate knowledge from users throughout the entire process chain—whether in the redesign of molded parts or in the conversion of molded parts that are already produced using the 1K standard injection moulding process.
